Google Chrome now Sports an FTP Client

One thing that has been holding me back from switching from Firefox to Google Chrome has been the lack of an FTP client. I've been quite fond of FireFTP for a while now. Well, my wait seems to be over.

 

Google Chrome now has an FTP client application called FTP Editor. It's simple web-like interface makes it extemely easy to use. You can also save your connections, making it a breeze to connect the next time you want to access your FTP server.

The Google Chrome FTP Editor also makes it easy to view and edit your files on your FTP server. Just click "edit" next to the file you want to edit and it shows up in the built in text editor. Just as easy is uploading files. Just click "upload".

The details screen allows you to edit file permissions and the path. It also tells you the size and the date the file was last altered.

Overall I am very pleased with this application. I even like it better than FireFTP, as it puts all the tools you need right at your fingertips without having to go through dropdown menus. If lack of an FTP client has held you back from switching to Google Chrome, you no longer have an excuse - Google Chrome's FTP Editor offers an easy, full featured, excellent solution to FTP connections.

    At first glance, I thought this article was a joke. These bozos find time to add an FTP client, but can't be bothered to add an RSS feed handler (a truly useful feature that has been requested over and over from the beginning). Really? Someone at Google has his head planted firmly up his own butt.

    sorry but ftpeditor.net is nothing more than a website - which works on both chrome and firefox (dig ftpeditor.net) - interesting that both ip's listed can not be looked up ??

    I would not trust it.

    I checked in Whois and this is the information I got.

    IP Address: 198.171.79.36
    Maximum Daily connection limit reached. Lookup refused.

    I also checked Arin and the info looked pretty standard to me:

    Unfortunately, this FTP client has serious issue: it only uploads one file at a time.
