My Views on Blogging Within The Linux Community
6:07 PMWithin the Linux community, as a blogger you have to be tough. Because you're going to get flames and from the comments I've read you're going to have tons of them.
The point of being a blogger is to not give up, however. For whatever reason you blog, keep doing it. And hey, if you're getting lots of flames, look at it this way: at least you're getting a lot of readers.
You can't be perfect for everyone. Nope, no matter how hard you may try, you're not going to please everyone. And some people just don't have any manners. ;)
So, I will just continue to keep on doing my thing and deleting the comments that are insulting or abusive. I don't think anyone really wants to read that trash on the internet anyways.
I try my best to bring a sense of zen to the internet. I realize I'm among a HUGE group of guys. But, if you haven't noticed, I am female, one in her 20s at that, and still in college. You do actually need females up in here. So try to be a gentleman.

sadly, i have to agree with you. sadly because it shouldn't be necessary to be tough. it would be much nicer if everyone could voice their thoughts without getting put down by anyone.
ReplyDeletebtw: are you aware of the ada initiative?

Your comments were getting marked as spam because of all the links. I fixed it. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you for being so supportive. I haven't heard of the Ada Initiative but I will check it out.
I totally agree with you.
ReplyDeleteOn Linux you can do things in many different ways, and so i get, a lot of times, comments like: you made that in the wrong way i can do it in 1 line or with this other program.
But i think that this is mostly because Linux it's for a lot of users a real passion, and so i try to take these as "positive" comments, you just have to be used to the Linux blogging environment ;)
Best regards
PS:
no one commenting that I've wrote Linux and not GNU/Linux :P ?
PS. I did not know you're a girl. LOL!
ReplyDeleteYou can't have whole world as friends. There will (and should) always be somebody to argue with!
