How to Install VMware Player on Linux Mint Maya 13
3:48 PMBy default, the virtual ethernet service in VMware Player 4.0.4 will fail when you try to start it. Fortunately there is an old patch that will fix this issue. I've updated the patch so it is compatible with VMware Player version 4.0.4. You can download it here.
To run the patch, after installing VMware Player extract it to your home folder and issue the following command in Terminal:
sudo bash /vmware802fixlinux320/patch-modules_3.2.0.sh

That "google shit" is Google Drive. There's a download link right in the middle of the page, you can't miss it.
ReplyDeletethis works :)
ReplyDeletethe "sudo bash ..." command is somewhat wrong though, cd to the vmware802fixlinux320 directory and run "sudo patch-modules_3.2.0.sh"
You're a genius! It worked like a charm! I had read somewhere that one would have to downgrade VMWare player to 4.0.3 for the patch to work. With your modified script, I didn't have to. Only "problem" I had was the Google Drive screen displayed Chinese characters on my screen; but I simply followed your instructions and everything went OK. Thank you very much!
